ABOUT SPEECH THERAPY

What Can Speech Therapy Do for Your Child?

If you've noticed your child struggling to communicate — whether they're not talking yet, hard to understand, or having trouble connecting with other kids — you're not alone. Communication challenges are incredibly common, and the right support can make an enormous difference. At STS, our Speech-Language Pathologists don't just work on sounds and words. They get to know your child — their personality, their interests, their strengths — and build therapy around what makes them tick. Sessions are play-based, fun, and designed to feel less like therapy and more like the best part of your child's week. We work with children on articulation, language development, fluency, social communication, and AAC — always with a neurodiverse-affirming, family-centered approach.

Every child deserves to be heard.

IS SPEECH THERAPY RIGHT FOR MY CHILD?

Signs Your Child May Benefit from Speech Therapy

Every child develops at their own pace. But if you notice any of these signs it may be worth talking to one of our SLPs.

Your child is not saying as many words as expected for their age or has stopped talking after previously speaking.

Hard to Understand

Family members or strangers have difficulty understanding your child's speech.

Language Delays

Your child struggles to follow directions, answer questions, or express their thoughts and feelings.

Stuttering

Your child repeats sounds, words, or phrases, or seems to struggle to get words out.

Social Communication

Your child has difficulty with the social rules of conversation — taking turns, staying on topic, or reading social cues.

AAC Needs

Your child may benefit from a communication device or alternative communication strategies.
