ABOUT US

Built on Heart. Driven by Results.

Since 2004, Specialized Therapy Services has been bridging the gap between therapy, education, and family support across Southern California.

OUR STORY

How It All Began

Specialized Therapy Services was founded in 2004 by Steve Oas, a certified educational speech therapist who saw a critical gap between the therapy children needed and the support schools and families were receiving. Steve's vision was simple but powerful: create a collaborative, compassionate environment where therapy, education, and family support worked together — not in isolation. Starting with a small team serving charter schools in San Diego, STS has grown into a California CDE-approved Non-Public Agency employing 200–300 skilled professionals serving families and school districts across Southern California. What started as one person's mission has become a movement — one connection at a time.

Results with impact. Connections that last.

Neurodiverse-Affirming Care

Our providers use sensory-based, play-based, and culturally competent approaches that celebrate every child's unique way of experiencing the world.

Collaborative by Design

We work alongside school teams, families, and other providers — because the best outcomes happen when everyone is on the same page.

Compliance You Can Count On

As a CDE-approved NPA, we understand the legal and regulatory landscape of special education and help our district partners stay audit-ready.
