What is Adapted Physical Education?
Adapted Physical Education (APE) is a specially designed physical education program for students with disabilities who require modifications to participate in the general PE curriculum. APE is a related service under IDEA and is written into a student's IEP when their disability affects their ability to participate in regular physical education. Our credentialed APE specialists assess students' physical fitness, motor skills, and movement patterns — then design individualized programs that help students develop physical competence, health-related fitness, and a lifelong love of movement. APE services are delivered in school settings across Southern California, both in-person and via teletherapy.
Every student deserves to move, play, and thrive.
