What is Music Therapy?

Music Therapy is an evidence-based related service delivered by board-certified music therapists (MT-BC) to accomplish IEP goals within a therapeutic relationship. STS Music Therapy is delivered as an educational related service — supporting student skill acquisition in communication, social-emotional development, sensory processing, and academic learning. Our MT-BC collaborates with IEP teams to develop music therapy goals aligned with students' educational programs. Sessions incorporate instrument play, movement, and musical improvisation to build skills that generalize to non-music educational settings. STS music therapy is available in school settings across Southern California.
